What is Stem Cell Therapy?
Stem cell therapy uses cells with the ability to support repair in cartilage, tendon, and soft tissue that has broken down from injury or years of wear. During treatment, our provider prepares a concentrated cellular sample and injects it directly into the affected joint or tissue, often using image guidance for accuracy. Most patients feel only a brief pinch during the injection itself, similar to a routine blood draw. The intent is twofold: reduce the inflammation contributing to pain and supply damaged tissue with material to support its own repair.
At Aligned Medical Center, stem cell therapy is one component of a larger care plan rather than a standalone procedure. We begin with a comprehensive evaluation of the joint, the patient's movement patterns, and their medical history, then develop a plan in collaboration with the patient. This may include pairing injections with chiropractic adjustments or physical therapy, depending on what the evaluation shows.
Patients who have tried other treatments without lasting improvement are often referred for a second opinion involving regenerative options. Our chiropractors and medical providers work together to determine what is driving the underlying symptoms before recommending any specific treatment. A consultation includes a review of imaging and history to determine whether stem cell therapy is appropriate for your condition.
